NAME: Katie Campbell

SCHOOL: University of Florida, 2015 graduate

BEFORE NEWS21: I spent two years with WUFT News, the NPR and PBS affiliate at the University of Florida, where I worked as chief web producer and a multimedia reporter. I also worked for The New York Times Editing Center, and I have written for Elite Daily, PBS MediaShift, NetNewsCheck and The Gainesville Sun.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? I’m focused on caregivers for patients who use medical marijuana and the legalization movement that we’re seeing across the U.S. I’m also experimenting with the News21 podcast Cultivating Conversation and with the blog to give our team a chance to explore some of the smaller moments hidden in the bigger picture.

FUN FACT: I’m obsessed with the cacti here in Arizona! They’ve always been exotic in my mind, but I admit it’s a strange thing to get excited about. The other fellows seem amused by it: They call me Cactus Katie.
