Two cannabis species: Indica vs. Sativa

PHOENIX – Indica and sativa are the two main subspecies of cannabis. These two can be combined to grow a hybrid marijuana strain, but alone they each have distinct  characteristics.

Sativa plants, for instance, are best to use at night because of its sedative and relaxing effects. Indica plants should be consumed or smoked during the day because they provides energy and cause more of a cerebral high.

They each are said to help therapeutically in different ways as well, with sativa aiding insomnia and indica’s uplifting effects helping with depression.
