Meet the Fellows: Dom DiFurio
Posted: June 18, 2015
NAME: Dom DiFurio, Reynolds Fellow
SCHOOL: Arizona State University, 2015 graduate
BEFORE NEWS21: I have worked with ASU’s State Press developing multimedia content as the publication moved away from print and toward online-only publishing. I’ve done investigative video work across Arizona, including a project on the state’s water usage, which was a Hearst finalist. I have also developed an interest in news engagement while helping to launch the Walter Cronkite School’s Public Insight Network Bureau, a student-run service that provides community engagement to newsrooms around the country.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? In general, my focus is on marijuana agriculture and the actual cultivation of the crop across the United States.
FUN FACT: This is the hardest thing I’ve had to write since entering this fellowship. I grew up in rural areas of Maryland and Texas, so despite recently living in cities, my heart is in gardening, ATV’s, camping, fried food and other backwoods activities.
