NAME: Jessie Wardarski, Chip Weil Fellow

SCHOOL: Arizona State University, 2015 graduate

BEFORE NEWS21: I have done international reporting through Cronkite’s Borderlands Initiative. I was a photographer and assistant photo editor for the university paper, The State Press, as well as a photographer for the State Press Magazine. In my senior year, I was a photo intern at The Arizona Republic. In 2013, the Arizona Press Club named me the Arizona College Photographer of the Year.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? I’m focused on marijuana caregivers across the United States, the rapidly growing edible market, lab testing and law enforcement.

FUN FACT: This is more of an odd fact, but I can finish a pack of gum in a day. I used to chew about four pieces at a time, but my New Year’s resolution was to only chew one piece at a time – it’s worked so far. But I love gum, peppermint in particular!
