NAME: Montinique Monroe

SCHOOL: Oklahoma State University, senior

BEFORE NEWS21: I worked as the multicultural writer and photographer for OSU’s independent student-run newspaper, The O’Colly. The Oklahoma chapter of Society of Professional Journalists recently honored me as the first place winner for diversity coverage at its annual awards. I also have interned with ABC affiliate KTUL, Channel 8 News in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? I am focusing on the impact of legalization in Colorado, law enforcement and discrimination and minorities in the cannabis industry.

FUN FACT: I am obsessed with bubble tea. I drink bubble tea at least three times a week, and if I can’t get my hands on it, I’ll settle for Thai tea. I’m not sure if this is a fun fact or a problem.
