NAME: Clarissa Cooper, Reynolds Fellow

SCHOOL: Arizona State University

BEFORE NEWS21: I started out writing stories for the Downtown Devil when I started college. Since then, I have interned The Arizona Republic as a breaking news reporter and AZ Big Media, writing for several of their publications like AZ Business Magazine.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? I’m covering what’s happened in Colorado, the first legal recreational marijuana state. I also am working on national business and banking stories, and I’m looking into some of the legal issues involved with marijuana, primarily cannabis-related DUIs.

FUN FACT: Before I started working in journalism, I spent five years working in a dinosaur museum back home in Colorado.
