Meet the Fellows: Nick Swyter

NAME: Nick Swyter
SCHOOL: University of Miami, 2015 graduate
BEFORE NEWS21: I worked at UMTV, the University of Miami’s student-run television station for four years and served as the station’s manager my senior year. I have experience working at MetroTV News in Indonesia, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Knight Foundation and the Miami Herald.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON? I am covering states that are legalizing cannabis oil to treat children with conditions such as epilepsy and cancer. I am also covering the early stages of Oregon’s recreational marijuana program.
FUN FACT: I lived in Alaska for one year during my early childhood. One of the only memories I have from Alaska is watching a moose eat a jack-o’-lantern that I made.
